Meter display shows CANNOT REACH DATA CENTRE or DATA CENTRE PHONE IS BUSY

A. This message is usually displayed in the following cases:

  • You may be using a double adaptor extension lead or splitter box. If so, please disconnect and plug the telephone cord directly into the telephone or fax socket.
  • You may be using an ISDN or digital telephone system. If so, please try connecting to your fax machine socket or an alternative analogue line
  • A dialling prefix is required.

To remove this message:

Step 1: Press the Clear (C) button.

Step 2: At the prompt INSTALL NOT COMPLETE HIT YES, press the number 5 button and then press Clear (C) four times.

Step 3: At the prompt DATE READY, press the set up button six times.

Step 4: At the prompt SET DIAL PREFIX? press Enter.

Step 5: At the prompt DIALLING PREFIX key in the number you use to obtain an outside line (i.e. 9) and press Enter.

Step 6: At the prompt CHANGE PB PHONE press Enter and then key in 08705 143492 and then press Enter twice.

Step 7: Ensure your Postage by Phone account number is displayed correctly and press Enter then press Clear (C).

Step 8: Finally press the postage refill button and enter in the amount you require, then press Enter.
