SCAN DASH MARK POSITIONING FOR STANDARD SCANNER
Refer to Figure below.
A scan dash line must be a minimum of 6mm (0.25”) width. A solid black line is preferred, but if the mark is printed using hyphens, it must be at least two hyphens wide with no more than 0.8mm separation between the hyphens. The marks should be black ink on a light background.

All scan lines must be printed within an area a minimum of 12mm from the lower edge of the form to a maximum of 114mm from the lower edge i.e. A scan dash zone of 102mm. The outer edge of the scan dash area is a minimum of 2 character widths in from the trimmed edge of the form.

There must also be a clearance of a minimum of 12mm from any text to the first mark and also above the last mark before any printed text on the form.

There must be at least 6mm spacing from any scan dash line to any other printed matter on the form.

Forms must be fed `foot first' through the cutter.
